The Manor Arms is a gastro Pub for all the family located at 13 Mitcham Lane, adjacent to Streatham Green. It has been open for a couple of years now in its current guise, but with a relatively new landlord, it seemed like as good a time as any for a review.
On entering the pub, one of the first things you see (and smell) is the open plan kitchen. To your left is ample seating separated across 2 rooms for those wishing to sit down for a meal, while on the right is the bar and up to 3 separate screens that are able to show a variety of games at the same time. There is also a good sized beer garden with plenty of seating for those wishing to be outside.
The staff at The Manor Arms certainly seem very down to earth and friendly with everyone seemingly working hard to make your visit a pleasant one. When we arrived it was not too busy and we were able to choose a table of our choice after which we were soon given a menu and asked if we were ready to order.
Food / Menu
We were here to sample the food and their menu offered us plenty to choose from. This included
- Starters x 6
- Salads x 3
- Pizzas x 4
- Mains x 11
- Sides x 7
- Platters x 6
This was also complemented by a good selection of white, red, rose and sparkling wines including of course champagne.
For parents The Manor Arms also offer a children's menu with a choice of 1, 2 or 3 courses. I am sure this will appeal to most family's.
The Manor Arms offers a good range of traditional British Pub Food served to a high standard as well as a broader selection of more exotic and contemporary modern dishes. In other words no matter what your taste, chance are they are likely to offer something that appeals to you.
During the week the Manor Arms offer various 'deals' that may appeal:
- Mon/Tues – Steak night - 2 x 8oz sirloin steaks, fries and a bottle of wine for £24.95.
- Monday – Saturday – Pizza and drink (choose from wine, beer, lager) for £10.
- Sundays – Roast with all the trimmings. Choose from Beef, Lamb, Pork, Chicken or Nut Roast. Also includes a child option.
We ordered a 'Manor Arms' Burger (£10.95) which came with the option of various toppings (additional £1 each) including blue cheese, smoked bacon and jalopenos that also included a side cup of fries and a cup of relish. We were impressed with the speed of service as well as the quality of the food that was according to my friend better than those served by the 'gourmet burger company'! The presentation of the food was also excellent and we both felt quite content after devouring our respective burgers that we both agreed were cooked perfectly.
Food is served at The Manor Arms from 12-10pm (Monday to Saturday) and from 12-9pm on Sundays.
- The Manor Arms is now open until 1pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

Essentially The Manor Arms offers something for all the family. If you want somewhere to go for that special occasion or simply wanted to treat yourself after a hard days work, The Manor Arms offers a wide range of traditional as well as more modern pub dishes that are served to a good standard in a comfortable environment and also offer very good value for money.
Having lived in Streatham for a few years I sometimes struggle with finding somewhere decent to eat. However I would not hesitate in recommending The Manor Arms and would go as far as to say that this is probably one of the best places to eat out in Streatham today. Recommended.
