CHRIS KABA: Met firearms officer acquitted of murder - The Voice Online
Description

MARTYN BLAKE, the Met Police firearms officer who fatallyshot Chris Kaba during a police stop, has been found not guilty of murder.

Blake, 40, shot and killed the unarmed 24-year-old during a police vehicle stop in Streatham, south London, in September 2022.

A helicopter and six police cars stopped the vehicle on 5 September 2022, after it was linked to a Brixton shooting. Kaba, aware of being followed, told a friend before turning into Kirkstall Gardens in south London where Blake was waiting.

The trial hinged on the following 17 seconds, which saw the Audi reverse a short distance, hitting an unmarked car behind, then accelerate forward.
