First picture of man who died in a fire in Streatham

A man who died in a fire in Streatham has been named as Basilio Dos Santos Antonio

The 49 year old was found dead inside a property on Glenister Park Road last month

Two people have been charged with murder and arson with intent to endanger life.

Detective Chief Inspector Kate Blackburn, who is leading the investigation, said:

“Basilio, who was originally from Brazil, had been in the UK for a number of years and worked as a cleaner.

“Our thoughts are with his family and friends as they continue to come to terms with their loss.”

An investigation was launched after police were called to a multi-occupancy house on Glenister Park Road by the London Fire Brigade at 19:07hrs on Sunday, 25 February.

Basilio Dos Santos Antonio was found dead inside the property. His next of kin were informed and continue to be supported by family liaison officers.
