Officer who shot Chris Kaba was ‘angry and frustrated’, court told - The Times
Description

A Metropolitan Police firearms officer might have been “angry, frustrated and annoyed” when he shot dead a black man driving a car linked to a gun discharge the previous day, a court was told.

Martyn Blake, 40, let off a single shot into the head of Chris Kaba, 24, during a “hard stop” in Kirkstall Gardens in Streatham Hill, south London, on September 5, 2022. Kaba died in hospital shortly after midnight on September 6. Blake denies murder.

The Old Bailey in London was told that Kaba failed to obey police orders to stop after officers had boxed him in. He made an attempt to escape in his dark Audi Q8 by driving forward and reversing but there was not enough room to get through,
