Detectives leading the investigation into the tragic death of a man in a fire incident in Streatham have identified the victim as Basilio Dos Santos Antonio, aged 49. Mr.

PC Paul Fisher, a specialist firearms officer, has been charged with a criminal offence in connection with the February 2020 incident, in which he was called to reports of a knife attack on members of the public.

Fire crews have been called to Streatham High Road after a blaze ripped through the building on Tuesday afternoon.

The Old Bailey has ruled that the Metropolitan Police firearms officer charged with the murder of Chris Kaba will be publicly identified. The decision came despite concerns raised about the safety of the officer, identified only as NX121, and the potential risks to him.

Investigators from the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) are working hard to determine the circumstances surrounding a fatal police shooting in Kirkstall Gardens, Streatham Hill, on Monday 5 September. The man has now been identified as Chris Kaba, 24, of Wembley.

Lambeth Council have written to Streatham Vale residents to inform them that their planned roll out of the Streatham Vale ward CPZ previously scheduled for December 2025 has now been suspended indefinitely.
