The express bus routes connecting parts of outer London have proved a hit since first being launched in 2023, reports Noah Vickers, Local Democracy Reporter

A new wave of Superloop bus services could be launched as early as this year, the boss of Transport for London (TfL) has confirmed.

Following on from the original Superloop network of express bus routes launched in 2023, mayor Sir Sadiq Khan promised in his re-election manifesto last year to launch ‘Superloop 2’.

A row broke out on Wednesday (23rd) after Tory leadership candidate Robert Jenrick accused mayor Sadiq Khan of poor judgement by “mourning” Chris Kaba’s death and suggested the Met Police have given some Londoners “special status” in applying the law.

But an ally of Khan hit back, saying the Conservative MP’s remarks were “outrageous” and a “tasteless” attempt to turn Kaba’s shooting into “a political football”.

Lambeth Council admitted the combination of major roadworks and its Streatham Wells LTN had caused “significant strain on bus services”, reports Noah Vickers, Local Democracy Reporter

Sadiq Khan has “applauded” Lambeth Council for suspending a controversial low-traffic neighbourhood (LTN), while dismissing the idea it could set a precedent for the removal of similar schemes.
