Submitted by daniel on Mon, 12/08/2024 - 12:25 Picture Image Description The Lambeth and Southwark Branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society have announced a free all day event at the Brixton Windmill Center on Saturday, 7 September 2024. This free event is open to anyone affected by MS, including carers, friends and family members of those with a multiple sclerosis diagnosis. Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a condition that can affect the brain and spinal cord, causing a wide range of potential symptoms, including problems with vision, arm or leg movement, sensation or balance.It's most commonly diagnosed in people in their 20s, 30s and 40s although it can develop at any age. It's about 2 to 3 times more common in women than men.https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/multiple-sclerosis/The Lambeth and Southwark Branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society have organised a programme of physical and creative activities and informative talks to help improve wellbeing. It will be a great opportunity to learn about activities that can help people manage their symptoms and live well with MS, including: neurophysio exercises, feldenkrais, sound healing, arts and crafts, chair yoga and more and connect with other people living with MS.The programme of talks and activities will run from 10am to 4.30pm, with a free light lunch and refreshments included. People are welcome to arrive anytime from 10.00am and can stay until 5.30pm to chat with volunteers and other attendees.
