'Terrorist attack' - stabbing several people, killed by London police

The London police have shot dead a suspect for a terrorist attack, after he had wounded several people with a knife in the middle of a street in London.

Officers are currently at the scene on the High Road in Streatham, south London, the Telegraph reports.

The suspect was shot by armed officers.

The Metropolitan Police released a statement saying: “A person has been shot by armed officers in #Streatham.

"At this stage it is believed that a number of people have been stabbed. The circumstances are being assessed; the incident has been declared as related to terrorism", the statement said.

Police were filmed standing behind an unmarked police car and pointing their guns at a suspect who appeared to be lying on the pavement outside a shop.

Dozens of emergency vehicles are currently lined up in the area, and there are reports of an air ambulance and police helicopter circling overhead.
