Slow traffic neighbourhood! New LTN is causing such bad congestion that buses take TWO hours to travel less th - Daily Mail

A new Low Traffic Neighbourhood (LTN) is causing such bad congestion that buses take two hours to travel less than three miles.

The Streatham Wells LTN in London has caused traffic chaos since the trial was introduced in October 2022.

The congestion is so bad at peak times that buses are being diverted around and even though the zone to avoid gridlock.

Transport for London (TfL) data shows that last week the A23, which runs along the western side of the LTN, became so bogged down in traffic that it took the bus 121 minutes to travel 2.9 miles.

An armed Met Police officer who crashed while racing to the scene of a terror attack at 80mph will not be disciplined, a watchdog said today.

PC Paul Fisher, 46, was last month cleared of dangerous driving over a collision he was involved in while en route to Streatham in south London, where terrorist Sudesh Amman stabbed two people in February 2020.

A court heard the officer made a 'split-second error' when he lost control of his unmarked BMW X5 and ran in to the back of a taxi driver's Toyota before hitting a Ford Fiesta and a wall.

An armed policeman who crashed while racing to the scene of the Streatham terrorist attack at 80mph may still face the sack despite being cleared of dangerous driving.

PC Paul Fisher, 46, made a 'split-second error' when he lost control of his unmarked BMW X5 and ran in to the back of a taxi driver's Toyota before hitting a Ford Fiesta and a wall.

Met chief Sir Mark Rowley slammed the prosecution of the former Royal Marine, who reached speeds of more than 80mph and admitted he had 'let people down' - but denied dangerous driving.
