The road was partially closed, from the Sports Direct store to Streatham train station. Pictures show a motorbike on the ground under a Progressive lorry. There were no reported injuries. A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at about 5.25pm on Thursday, August 29 to reports of a crash between a lorry and motorbike on Streatham High Road. “Offices attended. “There were no reported injuries. Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended and found a man injured. He was taken to hospital for treatment where his condition was assessed as serious. No arrests have been made as police enquiries into the circumstances continue. Mr Reed will be returning to his role as MP after serving as MP for Croydon North since 2012, as well as shadow Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs since September 2023. Mr Reed’s previous seat for Croydon North was abolished this year and replaced by Streatham and Croydon North as the new constituency. The incidents occurred between May 18 and 20 in Thamesmead, Eltham, West Dulwich and Streatham. Information about each incident is from the Metropolitan Police. Streatham Common Playground stabbing: Arrest made Submitted by daniel on Tue, 21/05/2024 - 12:03 Picture Image A teen was found “seriously” injured at Streatham Common Playground shortly after 8pm on May 18. Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended and the teen was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition. A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police confirmed today (May 21) that his condition is now stable. One man was arrested at the scene in connection with the incident and taken into police custody. An ambulance crew, paramedics in response cars, an incident response officer, and London’s Air Ambulance attended. The teen was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital where his condition is unknown. We have contacted the Metropolitan Police for further information. Streatham: Man jailed after raping woman in Norbury home Submitted by daniel on Fri, 17/05/2024 - 17:31 Picture Image Raphael Fakoya, 35, was jailed for nine years on May 13 after he was found guilty of numerous sexual offences. The assault occurred in February 2022 at Fakoya's home, with a woman who he knew. Fakoya will be on the sex offenders register for life. Following a hearing at Croydon Crown Court on January 24, Fakoya, from Beatrice Avenue, SW16, was declared a serious risk to women.
