Clapham and Brixton Hill MP appointed as UK Trade Envoy to Ghana - South London News
Description

A South London MP has been selected as one of 32 new Trade Envoys appointed by the Trade Secretary to drive UK exports and investment.

As Trade Envoy to Ghana, Clapham and Brixton Hill MP Bell Ribeiro-Addy will build on the UK’s relations with Ghana, helping UK businesses to take advantage of the opportunities arising from global trade.

Bell Ribeiro-Addy MP said: “In recent years, Ghana has been one of the fastest-growing economies in the world.

“I’m looking forward to representing the UK on the global stage and working to strengthen ties, boost trade and find new opportunities for collaboration between our nations.”

The 32 new trade envoys, drawn from across the political spectrum, have been assigned markets across six continents to identify trade and investment opportunities for businesses and champion the UK as a destination for investment.

Trade Envoys are appointed on their ability, relevant skills and experience with their respective markets or UK sector knowledge.

Business and Trade Secretary Jonathan Reynolds said: “Trade and investment are key to delivering economic growth, the number one mission of this Government and a key part of our Plan for Change.

“That’s why I’ve launched a new team of Trade Envoys, who will use their experience, expertise and knowledge to unlock new markets around the world for British businesses, drumming up investment into the UK and ultimately driving economic growth.”
