The south London postcodes with the most XL Bullies Submitted by daniel on Mon, 01/07/2024 - 05:00 Picture Image Data from a Freedom of Information request by The Spectator shows that the CR0 postcode, covering Croydon, Addiscombe, Shirley, Addington, New Addington, Forestdale and Waddon, has the highest number of approved applications for XL Bully dogs in the whole of the UK. The CR0 postcode had 219 approvals, ranking 1st out of 2,424 postcodes overall. The second south London postcode on the list is SE18, which covers Plumstead and Woolwich. Streatham Place Brixton stabbing: Suspect on loose Submitted by daniel on Thu, 27/06/2024 - 08:00 Picture Image Emergency services were called to Streatham Place this morning (June 27) at 2.24am. It is believed that the stabbing victim, a man in his 40s, was stabbed in Brixton Hill. He was taken to a south London hospital where his injuries were assessed as not life-threatening of life-changing. No arrests have been made and police enquiries are ongoing. He was sentenced at Wood Green Crown Court on June 19 to a minimum of nine years in jail. New Addington man found guilty of Mitcham fatal shooting Submitted by daniel on Fri, 31/05/2024 - 09:09 Picture Image In April 2023, 22-year-old Tyrese Miller was shot in the chest at close range. Drug dealer Denzel Kwateng has been cleared of his murder but convicted of manslaughter after the jury deliberated for more than 41 hours. In 2022, the 22-year-old was cleared over the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old Denardo Samuels-Brooks following an Old Bailey trial. At his second trial, Kwateng claimed in his defence that he had only pointed a gun at Mr Miller as a prank when it went off without him pulling the trigger. B&Q opened a new store on Sutton High Street last year, but this is a smaller “local” store. According to previous reports by the Local Democracy Reporting Service, the project includes eight blocks of flats, 337 of which will be affordable homes, within the 970-flat establishment. Streatham Common Playground stabbing: Arrest made Submitted by daniel on Tue, 21/05/2024 - 08:00 Picture Image A teen was found “seriously” injured at Streatham Common Playground shortly after 8pm on May 18. Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended and the teen was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition. A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police confirmed today (May 21) that his condition is now stable. One man was arrested at the scene in connection with the incident and taken into police custody. Streatham Common Park stabbing: Teen taken to hospital Submitted by daniel on Mon, 20/05/2024 - 08:00 Picture Image The incident happened at Streatham Common Park just after 8pm on May 18. An ambulance crew, paramedics in response cars, an incident response officer, and London’s Air Ambulance attended. The teen was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital where his condition is unknown. We have contacted the Metropolitan Police for further information. Streatham: Man jailed after raping woman in Norbury home Submitted by daniel on Fri, 17/05/2024 - 08:00 Picture Image Raphael Fakoya, 35, was jailed for nine years on May 13 after he was found guilty of numerous sexual offences. The assault occurred in February 2022 at Fakoya's home, with a woman who he knew. Fakoya will be on the sex offenders register for life. Following a hearing at Croydon Crown Court on January 24, Fakoya, from Beatrice Avenue, SW16, was declared a serious risk to women. Your Local Guardian visited the pub on Streatham High Road on April 30 to explore the revamped facilities. Originally established as a Wetherspoon in December 1998, The Holland Tringham has undergone a complete makeover, including enhancements to the customer area, bar, and other amenities. The refurbishment encompasses redecoration throughout, featuring new light fixtures, carpets, and luxurious marble wall panels in the customer toilets.
