Commuters may face a challenging journey to work this morning, with delays, suspensions and closure on five TfL lines.

The Hammersmith & City line was also partially suspended between Barking and Liverpool street, with minor delays on the rest of the line. There were also minor delays on the Metropolitan line between Aldgate and Baker Street

Commuters were facing a difficult start to the working week with problems being reported on the Tube and Tram - as the Silvertown Tunnel opens to motorists.

The picture is not looking great on the Tram either with part closures. There is currently no service between Sandilands and New Addington on the Tram.

Plans to transform Streatham Hill’s part of the A23 road with new pedestrian crossings and a protected cycle route have been criticised by local Liberal Democrats, who argue residents have not been properly consulted on the scheme.

Transport for London (TfL) announced last week that construction work will begin this summer on the project between Sternhold Avenue, next to Streatham Hill station, and Holmewood Road, at the top of Brixton Hill.

An avid runner will attempt to break the record for the fastest person to run the London Marathon dressed as a traffic cone.

Michael Wiggins, 47, from Streatham, south-west London, will run his 18th London Marathon since 1999 and his first in a traffic cone costume as he attempts to break the Guinness World Record (GWR).

Mr Wiggins, who works in advertising and post-production, wants to complete the run in three hours and 15 minutes to beat the previous record of three hours and 22 minutes, all while raising money for Prostate Cancer UK.
